Welcome!
Hi, I’m Tasia.
I’m a NYC-based therapist who is passionate about helping people build healthier relationships, navigate anxiety, and resolve symptoms of trauma. I use a combination of spirituality, movement, meditation, and breathwork to help clients develop emotional awareness, become attuned to their bodies, and form a mind-body-spirit connection.
I graduated from St. Edward’s University with a Master of Arts in Counseling and have been trained in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method. I recently moved back to my home state of New York and have been enjoying all the delicious eats in the city with my partner and doggy!
My Approach
relational
From our first session, we’ll focus on building trust and rapport within our therapeutic relationship. I believe in the power of authenticity and transparency in the therapy room, so I prioritize creating a warm, safe, and trusting environment where you can feel comfortable being your authentic self. Through developing our relationship, you will feel seen, heard, and accepted as you are.
Being mindful simply means being present. As you talk through your past experiences, we’ll bring awareness to the present moment and explore how those experiences, thoughts, and emotions are affecting you as you sit in the room. You’ll be able to gain valuable insight into your thought patterns, beliefs, and triggers.
multicultural
As a black woman, identity is a part of the fabric of who I am and informs a lot of my daily experiences. Therefore, it’s important to me to create a space where individuals of intersectional identities, such as BIPOC and LGBTQIA+, can openly speak about their identity, race, sexuality, faith, and cultural norms. We’ll explore how you identify and what kinds of trauma, conflict, and negative experiences may have occurred as a result of your identity. We’ll work on self-acceptance, self-compassion, and ancestral healing. All stories are welcome here!
Mindful
Our emotions are stored in the body, and need to be released to move through us and bring relief. In our sessions, we’ll pause often when emotions are surfacing, and we’ll bring awareness to the physical sensations in the body attached to those emotions. We’ll use meditation, visualization, and breathwork to ease you through the process, resulting in a stronger mind-body-spirit connection.
